Frequently Asked Questions

I am enjoying the experience of planning my wedding. If I hire you, will you honor my wishes and help me achieve my vision?

Absolutely! We want you to experience planning your wedding and all of the joys and fun times that go along with it. This is truly one of the most fantastic experiences of your life. It is our job to help you in whatever aspect you need assistance - whether it's making phone calls, running errands or researching vendors.

We understand that our brides, grooms, their families and bridal party are very busy people. Many of them work, go to school, have families and overall lead very fulfilling lives. A wedding planner or wedding coordinator can really help with the things you don't have time to do, don't want to do or don't know how to do. Think of us as an extra set of hands, eyes and ears! We don't take over your day, we facilite the details to make sure that you have the perfect day!

What is the difference between a Wedding Planner and a Day Of Service Director?

Excellent question! A wedding planner or wedding coordinator is someone who helps you with your vision from start to finish or sometimes with just a few details in the middle. Depending on what your area of need is, they can help you fill in the blanks or be your right hand throughout your planning process.

A wedding day director is someone you hire to make sure that all of the details that you've worked so hard to put together happen on your wedding day. Typically your wedding day director will have some communication with you during your planning process so they have a good idea of your vision. Groomes and Company Weddings takes an additional step in this process by becoming involved with you a couple of weeks before your wedding day; we review your vendor contracts to verify what you expect that day; we confirm set up times, delivery dates/times; coordinate with your banquet facility for final guest count and so much more. We can also take delivery of your final payments and disburse them to the vendors. We become the go-to person for all of your vendors, bridal party and your guests too.

Can you just give me vendor referrals? Do I have to pay a fee for this service?

We can certainly hand out referrals for vendors. At that point they may not be a valid referral. What that means is we don't vouch for the service,  quality or availabilty of the product when this occurs.

We have worked very hard to establish relationships with our wedding and event planning partners. Our established vendors share their pricing, packages and company mission with us. With that said, those vendors expect a certain level commitment from us and our clients that we refer to them. The vendors who have taken the time to work with us also understand the value of our service to them as well. A seasoned event planner has a level of understanding to the business that other professionals very much appreciate.

As previously stated, we can give you open referrals for no charge.

However, we do charge a nominal fee for warm vendor referrals which can include us calling on your behalf to make the appointments and occassionally going with you to meet them. In addition, we will discuss your wedding budget to help you decide what is a priority and what areas to spend your hard earned wedding money! Since vendors vary in price, style, quality, etc., we can help you determine who is a good fit for your personality as well!

What is your payment structure?

For most of our wedding planning packages, we charge 50% of the fee upfront and final payment 7 days before your wedding date. The reason for a deposit is to secure our services exclusively for you on your special day.

Other services such as budgeting, RSVP, event errands, guest management gift wrapping and such are paid at the time of delivery of the products or services.

A wedding planner or wedding coordinator will use your budget as a very specific guide for planning your event. It is our job to plan your wedding and pay our fee out of the budget that you've set without compromising the quality of the event or your vision. We do not post our 'rate card' on our website because each of our clients needs are different. We often create a custom package for each of our clients using our fee structure as a guide.

A final word on vendor referrals... Groomes and Company Weddings (or our partner companies - JC's DJ Service & Everything Events LLC)  does not receive payments or 'kickbacks' from vendors for referring clients to them. We feel that that practice is unethical and unfair to you. If I am accepting a fee from you AND another party, then who do I really work for?
